Kashena Sampson Information
Kashena Sampson is an American singer and songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. She released her debut album, Wild Heart, in 2017. Her second album, Time Machine, was an 11-song journey through her struggles with finding herself and codependency. It was illuminated by a voice that takes you back to a time when Fleetwood Mac and Linda Rondstadt were reigning supreme. Sampson’s path soon shifted just as similar as so many other musicians had shifted over the past year. She struggled so hard that she used to fund her music through a bartending job at The Basement East. It was destroyed by the March 2020 tornado that hit Nashville.
Sampson’s Time Machine was recorded with producer Jon Estes in February 2019. Estes played the album’s organ, cello, piano, and bass. She also worked with him for her 2017’s album Wild Heart. The album had everything on track to tape over two days, Elizabeth Estes on strings, Jon Radford on drums, and Jeremy Fetzer on guitar.
Sampson ventured to Nashville following her travels. She moved there in 2015 and has since been a valuable member of the local music community. This is evident by some of her co-writers, including Kyshona Armstrong, Mary Bragg, and Erin Rae.
