The Ballers are located in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The team plays its home games at Atrium Health Ballpark. The Ballers were established as Piedmont Phillies in 1995. From 2001-2019 they were known as the Kannapolis Intimidators. During that time, the team played all its home games at Intimidators Stadium. The team is owned and operated by Temerity Baseball, LLC.
Previous names for the Ballers include Spartanburg Phillies (1963 to 1995), Piedmont Phillies (1995), Piedmont Boll Weevils (1996 to 2000), and Kannapolis Intimidators (2001 to 2019).
