Junkyard Symphony was founded in 1992 in Ottawa, Canada, and in 2007 they established a second base in Montreal, Quebec. Junkyard Symphony is an eco-entertainment company (eco stands for ecological and economical) that recycles trash to provide entertainment for all ages on various occasions.
They do various things using rubbish, but their fantastic junk/percussion/comedy/circus shows are their most well-known. They also use rubbish to create imaginative and innovative sports and activities, have recorded numerous CDs with garbage as instruments, and worked on a children's novel with a junk theme.
Junkyard Symphony's mission is to promote environmental health and awareness through informative and exceptional entertainment by repurposing old everyday materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill. On the other hand, Junkyard Symphony sees these items as fantastic gems that can be used for an even bigger purpose: generating a lot of large grins. The performers are the conductors, and the crowd is the symphony, so expect a wild journey filled with fast rhythms, incredible antics, clownish comedy, incredible stunts, great magic, skill, and audience participation.
