Jose Luis Rodriguez Information
José Luis Rodríguez González (January 14, 1943), better known by his nickname "El Puma" (Cougar), was born in Venezuela. He is an actor and musician best known for his numerous worldwide smash tunes and appearances in telenovelas. Additionally, he has been a judge on The X Factor Chile and a coach and mentor on The Voice in Peru, Argentina, and Chile.
In 1974, Rodriguez was chosen by Venevision to represent Venezuela in the esteemed OTI Festival, which took place in Acapulco, Mexico, for its third edition. His submission, "Vuélvete" (Return), was well-received and brought honor to his nation; he placed third with 11 points.
After appearing there, Rodríguez gained popularity in his own country in the late 1960s and early 1970s. At the same time, he and his family were featured in a well-known ad for Ace detergents.
He appeared on Telefe's La Voz... In July 2012, Argentina was a judge and voice teacher for the Argentine edition of The Voice. In Colombia, he was a judge on the dance show La Pista, which was broadcast on Caracol TV with Fernán Martínez and Carolina Ramírez. The same year, he appeared in Will Ferrell's Casa de mi Padre in a cameo role.
Rodríguez coached one of the four clubs in La Voz Perú during its inaugural season in August 2013. In a historic moment for La Voz Perú, Rodríguez became the first winning coach on December 20 when one of his students, young Daniel Lazo, secured first place in the tournament.
