Jose Feliciano Information
José Montserrate Feliciano García (September 10, 1945) is a Puerto Rican musician. Among the many foreign hits he recorded were his self-penned Christmas song "Feliz Navidad" and his performance of the Doors' "Light My Fire." Created mostly with his signature acoustic guitar sound, he explores genres, including a fusion of many styles, including Latin, blues, jazz, soul, and rock music.
Feliciano's golden anniversary year ended with a Christmas concert held at the Vatican for Concerto di Natale, 2018, their annual Christmas celebration. While in Rome, Feliciano and his son Jonnie were invited to a private audience with Pope Francis. Honoring Feliciano for his contributions to the world of music, Feliciano received a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 62nd Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc., celebrating his roots and love for his island home.
Feliciano was working with his long-time producer, Rick Jarrard, to record an album for Anthem Records during May and June of 2019. The album was recorded in both Nashville and Connecticut. This album, released on January 31, 2020, is titled Behind This Guitar and received its release date.
