Jim Carrey (January 17, 1962) is a Canadian-American writer, actor, artist, and comedian. He was born in Toronto, Ontario. His original name is James Eugene Carrey. He spent his early age in Scarborough, Ontario and attended Blessed Trinity Catholic Elementary School in North York. He, along with his family moved to Burlington, Ontario, where he went to Agincourt Collegiate Institute and attended Aldershot High School. His family wasn’t doing fine financially that brought many hurdles for Carrey to obtain work. Eventually, his father helped him drive to Toronto to Debut at Yuk Yuk’s comedy club. Due to his family’s financial situation, they could not help him to support his ambition initially.
After an accumulated amount of effort, the family situation started to get better and they moved to a new house. Carrey began his career from open mic nights and very soon started getting paid shows as he polished his act after some betterment seen in his family situations. A few times passed, Carrey caught the attention of Rodney Dangerfield. He signed Carrey and asked him to open his tour performances. Eventually, Carrey came to Las Vegas with Rodney Dangerfield but he didn’t stay there for so long and moved to Hollywood. There he began to play at The Comedy Store. The next year after appearing at The Comedy Store, he debuted on “The Tonight Show”.
Jim Carrey has appeared in a number of hit films such as The Dead Pool (1988), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Fun with Dick and Jane (2005), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), and several other movies that brought major success in his life and his career.
