Jeremy Samuel Piven (July 26, 1965) is an American producer, comedian, and actor. He is best known for his role as Ari Gold in the comedy series entitled “Entourage.” While on that series, he won a Golden Globe Award and three consecutive Emmy Awards. Piven has also starred in the period drama entitled “Mr. Selfridge,” which accounts for the man who created the luxury English department store chain.
Piven launched his career by performing the role of Spike in Lucas (1986). In 1992, his first significant role came where he became a regular cast member on The Larry Sanders Show of HBO, playing the head writer “Jerry.”
Piven has appeared in numerous films throughout his career, such as Runaway Jury (2003), Smokin’ Aces (2006), Serendipity (2001), Rock N Rolla (2008), Old School (2003), PCU (1994), Heat (1995), The Kingdom (2007), Black Hawk Down (2001), and The Family Man (2000).
He has appeared in several television shows including Carol & Symphony (1990), Rugrats (1991), The Larry Sanders Show (1992-1998), Seinfeld (1993), Chicago Hope (1995), The Drew Carey Show (1997), Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000), and Spider-Man The New Animated Series (2003).
