Jason Mewes Information
Jason Edward Mewes (June 12, 1974) is an American television and film actor born in Highlands, New Jersey. He started working in roofing, but soon, Mewes made his film debut when he appeared in the 1994 film “Clerks.” He appeared as Jay in the movie, and it was a successful project that ultimately boosted Mewes’s career. Later on, he played roles in several other films, including Clerks II (2006), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), Dogma (1999), Chasing Army (1997), and Mallrats (1995).
In 1998, Mewes was picked up for a series of Nike commercials. The series was directed by his friend Smith and Mewes starred as “Gary Lamb – Ground Activist.” Mewes has also provided voice-over in the video game “Scarface: The World Is Yours.” He starred in the horror film named “Breath of Hate.” In 2008, Smith cast Mewes once again as a co-star in “Zack and Miri Make a Porno.” In 2013, he co-produced the animated movie entitled “Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie.”
Mewes has appeared in several other hit films throughout his careers, such as Spilt Milk (1999), Scream 3 (2000), Vulgar (2000), Clerks: The Animated Series (2000-2002), R.S.V.P. (2002), High Times’ Potluck (2002), Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003), Powder: Up Here (2004), Degrassi: The Next Generation (2005), My Big Fat Independent Movie (2005), The Pleasure Drivers (2005), Feast (2006), National Lampoon’s T.V. The Movie (2006), Bottoms Up (2006), and Netherbeast Incorporated (2007).
