Bowling for Soup is an American rock band. The current lineup of the group consists of Rob Felicetti (acoustic guitar, backing vocals, and bass), Gary Wiseman (backing vocals, percussion, and drums), Chris Burney (backing vocals and guitar), and Jaret Reddick (guitar and lead vocals). Jaret Reddick and the other bandmates were raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Bowling for Soup started. After first meeting in the fall of 1976, when Reddick was in kindergarten, he reconnected with original drummer Lance Morrill.
At age 13, Reddick started playing music in 1985. As teenagers in the 1980s, Reddick and guitarist Chris Burney were influenced by the quicker punk rock of the Ramones and later Green Day, as well as the commercially successful heavy metal music of bands like Quiet Riot and RATT. They first met in high school in 1986.
Bowling for Soup moved to Denton, Texas, in 1996, and for the local record company FFROE they recorded their second studio album (and third overall), Rock on Honorable Ones!! in 1998. Later that year, the group's debut EP, Tell Me When to Whoa, was made available through FFROE. Over 10,000 copies of the CD were sold, which led Jive Records to contract the band. On January 13, 2022, The Edge radio station in Tulsa broadcast the debut of the new song "I Wanna Be Brad Pitt." The band announced the title of their eleventh album, Pop Drunk Snot Bread, which will be published on April 22, 2022, along with the formal release of the song on February 25.
