Israel Vibration Information
Israel Vibration is a Jamaican reggae harmony group. Spence and Craig met up in Kingston, where Bulgin was working as a tailor, and decided to find him. They started a singing group at first called Israel Vibration, but they eventually shortened their name to "Israel Vibration." For years, they made ends meet with money from street performances and an unsuccessful 1975 recording session at Channel One Studios (where they recorded "Bad Intention") that was never published.
Hugh Booth, a Twelve Tribes member, heard the three men singing in the woods near Kingston and donated to help them record their debut album. It had been transformed into a residence by Apple and Wiss. Their first release was the 1976 single "Why Worry," which was recorded at Treasure Isle and issued by Twelve Tribes at the year's end.
In 1977, they released "The Same Song" on Tommy Cowan's Top Ranking label, featuring backing from Inner Circle members. Two years later, they released an album of the same name. Due to the international success of both the original album and its dub version, Israel Tafari (aka Same Song Dub), the band signed a deal with the British EMI label Harvest to release the album in 1980.
