Homayoun Shajarian (May 21, 1975) is a singer from Iran. Mohammad-Reza Shajarian of Iran is the father of Homayoun. He began his career as a musician in the 1990s after learning to sing from his dad. A great singer of traditional Persian music, Mohammad-Reza Shajarian was Shajarian's father. He started learning traditional Persian vocal music (Avaz) and drumming (the Tombak), as well as other instruments (Kamancheh) when he was very little.
While studying under Ardeshir Kamkar at the Tehran Conservatory of Music, Shajarian settled on the kamancheh as his instrument of choice. He began performing with his father, Tombak, 1991 at Ava Music Ensemble concerts throughout the US, Europe, and Iran. Beginning in 1999, he began singing backup vocals.
They had a daughter, Yasmine Shajarian, in Tehran, Iran, in 2007, after he wed Guitta Khansari in 1995. Their 2015 divorce was final. On May 21, 2003, his 28th birthday, Mohammad Javad Zarrabian published Nassim-e Vasl, his first solo effort. He gave a concert that was streamed live on May 24, 2020.
