Maestro Hector Olivera is an enthusiastic, talented, and one-of-a-kind musician whose innovative takes on classical and popular music have wowed listeners all over the globe. Mr. Olivera, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was inspired to start performing the pipe organ by his father. The church of the Immaculate Conception hired him as their organist two years afterward. He began performing for Eva Perón when she was only five years old. He began his formal education in harmony, composition, and fugue at six when he enrolled at the Buenos Aires Conservatory. At nine, he had already written and had the Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra play a suite for oboe and string orchestra.
Mr. Olivera began his education at the University of Buenos Aires under the tutelage of Hector Zeoli and Juan Francisco Giacobbe when he was twelve. He had already given over three hundred performances across Latin America and was a regular on Argentinean radio and television by the time he turned eighteen. His already prodigious improvisational talent was greatly honed as he worked as the senior improvising accompanist for the Collegium Musicum in Buenos Aires.
