Glacier Range Riders Information
The Glacier Range Riders are an independent baseball team in the Pioneer League, an MLB Partner League, that started playing in 2022. They have their home games at Glacier Bank Park in Kalispell, Montana. After being an MLB-affiliated Rookie Advanced League, the Pioneer League became an independent baseball league and was recognized as an MLB Partner League in 2021 when Minor League Baseball contracted.
Glacier National Park, founded in 1910 and close by, inspired the Range Riders' moniker. In honor of the team's creation, which took place on January 19 at 10:00 a.m., the members decided to announce the name. A tenth club was required to accommodate the 2022 Owlz return and maintain a balanced schedule. Ridge Run Baseball LLC was granted an expansion franchise to start play in 2022 on August 16, 2021.
Along with the news, a new stadium was announced to be built north of Kalispell, near U.S. Route 93. With its original name being Flathead Field, Glacier Bank Park is an artificial grass venue with 2,500 seats. First played on May 23, 2022, at Rocky Mountain Vibes' home field, the franchise made its 2022–2023 debut on June 14, 2022, at Billings Mustangs' home field.
