Gilberto Santa Rosa (August 21, 1962) is a singer of bolero and salsa and a Puerto Rican bandleader. One of his many nicknames is "El Caballero de la Salsa." He is the only person to have won a Grammy six times. In 1976, when he was still a teenager, he took the stage for the first time. His first recorded gig was as a backup singer with the Mario Ortiz Orchestra.
La Grande Orchestra hired Santa Rosa as their lead singer for two years. Over three million of this guy's recordings have been purchased in the United States and Puerto Rico. On September 28, 2008, he was also presented with the Union, New Jersey key. As of the end of 2010, he also had the most albums debut at the top of the Billboard Tropical Albums list.
He also pioneered the performance of tropical salsa music at New York City's Carnegie Hall Theater. Santa was honored as the year's best male singer at the Billboard Lo Nuestro Awards.
Santa Rosa locals were invited to record backing vocals for Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Almost Like Praying" song in 2017. All of the revenues from the single, which included several different Latin musicians, went to the Hispanic Federation's Hurricane Relief Fund, which is currently aiding individuals in Puerto Rico who Hurricane Maria impacted.
On Norberto Vélez's YouTube account from 2019, a video named "Sesiones Desde La Loma Ep. 2" featured Gilberto Santa Rosa as the featured vocalist.
