Ghostland Observatory Information
Ghostland Observatory is an American music duo from Austin, Texas. Allmusic has said their music combines electro, rock, funk, and "electro-dance soul rock" by Gothamist. Apart from sometimes guitar playing, front guy Aaron Behrens offers vocals. Thomas Ross Turner does synthesizer or percussion work. 2005 saw the band release their debut full-length album, delete.delete.i.eat. Meat on Turner's Trashy Moped Recordings.
In January 2006, Ghostland Observatory also unveiled Paparazzi Lightning, their second CD, on the same label. On October 16, 2007, they debuted nationally on NBC's Late Night with WORDS with the song "Sad Sad City." Released on October 26, 2010, Ghostland Observatory's fourth album, Codename: Rondo, debuted with a concert at the Cedar Park Center in Texas on October 28, 2010.
Using 16 lasers and a clever assembly of mirrors dispersed about the stage to create visual effects in real-time, often only seen in movies, they pushed the laser show to another level. The pair returned on April 9, 2021, with the release of their fifth album, Vultures.
