Troyal Garth Brooks is an American country singer and songwriter. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was in Oklahoma pubs and clubs, most notably Wild Willie's Saloon in Stillwater, that Brooks began his professional music career as a singer and guitarist in 1985.
Listening to George Strait's first single, "Unwound," in 1981 piqued Brooks' interest in country music. In 1989, Garth Brooks released his self-titled debut album, quickly becoming a commercial hit. It topped out at no. 2 on the Top Country Albums list and no. 13 on the Billboard 200.
On November 20, 2020, Brooks dropped his most current studio album, Fun. Brooks sang "Amazing Grace" at Joe Biden's January 20, 2021 inauguration. After his show, he stated it was an opportunity "to serve" and a "statement of unity." Brooks gave a concert at Tiger Stadium on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on April 30, 2022.
Following in the footsteps of LSU quarterback Tommy Hodson, he roused the audience with his famous song "Callin' Baton Rouge," causing the noise level to register on the university's seismograph as an earthquake produced by passionate supporters.
Garth Brooks/Plus ONE, Brooks's second Las Vegas residency, was announced for 2023 on November 14 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
