Gabie Hanna (February 7, 1991) is an American singer and songwriter. She was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Hanna received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Communication from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. She was involved in the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority while she was a student at Pitt. After graduation, she joined a marketing firm whose products were distributed in Sam's Clubs; she quickly rose to the position of the top salesperson in the United States and eventually relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, to establish a new office for the firm. But she left when she learned their business model was a pyramid scheme.
After starting to post comedic videos to Vine in late 2013, Hanna quickly became popular and eventually amassed a following of more than five million users. She launched a channel on YouTube in 2014 under the name The Gabbie Show; in 2019, she rebranded as Gabbie Hanna, but in 2021, she reverted to the original identity.
Hanna and her dancing partner, Matt Steffanina, won the fourth season of the Dance Showdown web series in 2015. In the years after she graduated from college, Hanna lived in Los Angeles, California, where she worked for the online news and entertainment company BuzzFeed before leaving to focus on her online video channels, YouTube and Vine. A video accusing Gabbie Hanna of plagiarizing jokes went popular on Reddit in December 2015.
