Fire of Anatolia Information
The Fire of Anatolia, also known as Anadolu Atesi, is a Turkish Dance group that consists of 120 dancers, numerous choreographers, and technical staff. So far, they have performed in more than 85 countries from the United States to China and Japan. The Fire of Anatolia holds two Guinness records, including the fastest dance performance with 241 steps per minute and the largest audience where 400,000 people attended their performance in Eregli, which is located in the Black Sea Region of the country.
The concept of the Fire of Anatolia dance group came about from Mustafa Erdogan. He wanted to mix Anatolian dances with modern dance as well as ballet. He established the foundations of the group that was named “Sultans of the Dance.” Mustafa Erdogan used to conduct folk dance studies at Bilkent University. The main staff for the Fire of Anatolia consists of Mustafa Erdogan (General Director and Choreographer), Yilmaz Erdogan (Supervisor), Music by Mustafa Erdogan, Fuat Saka, and Taner Demiralp. The choreography is by Alper Aksoy, and Oktay Keresteci, costume by Sultan Gozcu Ozel, and the Makeup Design and Stage Manager is Serkan Aydin.
In 2001, Fire of Anatolia performed for the first time, and the very next year, they began a world tour. The number of dancers means that the group can perform the same show at multiple locations at the same time. Countries in which the group has performed so far include Russia, Qatar, Switzerland, Poland, Egypt, Romania, France, and several others.
