Enrique Bunbury Information
Enrique Bunbury (August 11, 1967), whose real name is Enrique Ortiz de Landázuri Izarduy, is a Spanish musician who was born in Zaragoza, Aragon. Several publications have called him "by far the most international star of Spanish rock."
As the lead vocalist of Héroes del Silencio, he rose to prominence and became a household name. Bunbury progressively built a solo career following the band's 1996 disbandment. Singing in the baritone range would be his "tessitura" style.
In the early 1980s, Bunbury began his musical career, first performing with the high school band Apocalipsis and subsequently joining Proceso Entrópico. Zumo de Vidrio was a band that Bunbury joined in 1984 and made her singing debut that year.
Bunbury announced his retirement from performing and his last tour on February 28, 2022, via his social media accounts. The singer has long struggled with health problems, most notably respiratory troubles.
Bunbury stated on May 10 that he would have to postpone the remainder of the tour and retire earlier than planned because of an unforeseen worsening of his health. The trip was originally scheduled to finish in September. Bunbury announced five 2024 dates (Ciudad de México, Guadalajara, Los Angeles, New York, and Madrid) on social media on March 25, 2023.
