Edmonton Riverhawks Information
The Edmonton Riverhawks are a college summer baseball club. The Riverhawks call RE/MAX Field home as they compete in the West Coast League. A ten-year lease agreement for RE/MAX Field was negotiated by Baseball Edmonton, a consortium led by five-time Stanley Cup champion Randy Gregg and 24 other partners, with the City of Edmonton in May 2020.
The 2023 Riverhawks could not improve upon last year's 25-28 record, as they finished 18-36 and placed sixth in the North. Jonny McGill of the University of British Columbia's final batting average was 335. University of Mary pitcher Halen Knoll won five games while striking out fifty-two batters. The Riverhawks went 2-0 against opponents outside the league throughout the season.
A total of 1,420 spectators, or 710 on average, made the trip to these two games. The Riverhawks' All-Star Game roster was finalized on July 9th with the selection of Tate Dearing, Vicarte Domingo, Bryce McFeely, Jakob Poturnak, and Michael Soper. Sam Kane of Seattle University was honored with the title of league player of the week on July 14th. Throughout the week, Kane managed to get thirteen hits, seven RBIs, and three home runs.
