Dubbest is an American reggae band. The current lineup consists of Dimitri Giannoulis (bass), Kyle Hancock (drums), Cory Mahoney (guitar), Andrew MacKenzie (guitar), and Ryan Thaxter (vocals, keys, and melodica). The band originally came from the East coast with a fresh yet upbeat vintage sound. They have emerged swiftly onto the North American reggae radar.
Dubbest was started by Boston-bred four high school friends who created a unique sound that gave a rebirth to their earlier passion for ska and punk.
Dubbest was originally formed in 2009, but they took a lot of time exploring an entirely new musical approach, influenced by popular jam bands such as Phish and The Grateful Dead.
In 2012, Dubbest released their debut album, Avoid the Pier. The album showcased the band's devotion to the simple overdubs and riddims that would remind the glory days of 1970s reggae. In 2013, the band came up with an amazing single entitled "Heat and Water." The single was completely an evolved one from Dubbest compared to their previous releases.
Other notable singles of Dubbest include "Spend the Day," "Leaving," "One Thing," "Back from the Dead," "By Design," "Better with Words," and "End of the Road."
