Steven Aaron Jordan, a.k.a Stevie J (November 2, 1971), is an American television personality, record producer, and DJ. He was born in Utica, New York. Jordan first gained widespread recognition for his work at the label as a part of the "Hitmen" team of in-house producers and songwriters at Bad Boy Records in the 1990s. He frequently collaborated with Sean "Puffy" Combs, owner of the Bad Boy record label, and produced albums for the label, including the debut album by the R&B quartet 112. Their debut single, "Only You," featured The Notorious B.I.G. and was produced by Jordan.
The songs "Mo Money Mo Problems," "Nasty Boy," "Notorious Thugs" (with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), "Another," "You're Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You)," and "Last Day" were all produced by Jordan for Notorious B.I.G.'s Life After Death album. After producing the Notorious B.I.G. tribute song "I'll Be Missing You" for Combs' No Way Out album, Jordan was awarded a Grammy.
He has produced for artists beyond his Bad Boy affiliation, including Mariah Carey, for whom he shared a Grammy Award nomination for their work on the album Butterfly (1997). The album's debut hit, "Honey," was produced by him, as were "Breakdown," which featured Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and "Babydoll." He also produced Carey's 1998 number-one singles, "I Still Believe" and "Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going)."
