Death Grips Information
Death Grips is an American experimental hip-hop band. The current lineup comprises Stefan Burnett, Zach Hill, and Andy Morin. Exmilitary, the group's mixtape, was released in April of 2011, while The Money Store, their debut studio album, was released a year later. After signing with Epic Records in 2012, the band had trouble keeping to the terms of their contract and were dropped shortly after the release of their second album, No Love Deep Web.
On May 12, 2022, Death Grips released a mysterious video depicting a moth set to a pounding trance soundtrack, which many took to be a preview of upcoming music. Death Grips were confirmed as performers at three summer 2023 music festivals in November 2022: Sick New World, Outbreak Fest, and Primavera Sound. The band's first North American tour in four years was confirmed in December 2022 and took place from May to October of the following year.
At their show at Portland's Revolution Hall on May 4, 2023, Death Grips presented a new preshow soundscape, which included the full version of the tune teased in the month mentioned above footage. Death Grips at the Riot Fest music festival in Chicago, Illinois, on September 16, 2023. For Björk's 2012 remix album Bastards, the band reworked two tracks.
