Dead Winter Carpenters Information
Dead Winter Carpenters is an American All-Country band. The current lineup of the group consists of Brian Huston (vocals and drums), Bryan Daines (vocals and lead guitar), Dave Lockhart (vocals, electric, and upright bass), Jesse Dunn (vocals and rhythm guitar), and Jenni Charles (vocals and fiddle). The band took a break from their summer tour of the western United States to record their debut album in the studio for three days. After the release of their self-titled album in August 2010, D.W.C. embarked on a larger tour that saw them visit 22 different states over 35 days.
The band performed at the High Sierra Music Festival and the Hangtown Halloween Ball in addition to their other 175 concerts in 2011. This publicity helped the group successfully crowdfund for a new record. They raised the bar on production with the extra $12,000 and took their time with it.
Prairie Sun Recording Studios was the location for the recording session in January 2012, with Chief Engineer Matt Wright on board and legendary engineer John Cuniberti handling the mastering. After "Ain't It Strange" was released in May 2012, the band went on several national tours, playing alongside acts like Yonder Mountain String Band and The Infamous Stringdusters. In addition to making an appearance at a second High Sierra, the band also played at YarmonyGrass and The Northwest String Summit.
