Dave Ross Information
Dave Ross (April 10, 1952) is an American talk show host on Seattle's KIRO-FM radio station. Ross has a brother and two sisters and is the son of a commercial artist. He was born into a Catholic family in Yorktown Heights, New York. He began his broadcasting career at WVIP in Mt. Kisco, New York, at 15 years old. Ross worked as a reporter at WSB in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1973 to 1978 after graduating from Cornell University in 1973. He was a Cornell University Glee Club, The Hangovers, and the Quill and Dagger Club.
Ross won the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Commentary in 2001 and 2005. However, because the ceremony was scheduled for September 12, 2001, he could not accept the 2001 prize personally. On September 11, 2001, he was scheduled to fly to Nashville but instead found himself covering the terrorist events in New York City. Ross has also been nominated for the Marconi Award and the Clarion and Gabriel Awards. The Seattle Weekly named him "Best Talk Show Host." On October 26, 2010, it was revealed that Luke Burbank would be joining Ross on his KIRO radio show as a co-host.
Ross is a member of the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society and has performed in over 30 parts during their summer performances at Seattle Center.
