Corpus Christi Hooks Information
The Corpus Christi Hooks play in the Texas League and are the Houston Astros' Double-A affiliate. They take their name from the city's long fishing history and are situated in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Astros of Houston owns the club. Whataburger Field, which opened in 2005 and is on the water in Corpus Christi, is where the Hooks play their home games.
The 2007 Texas League All-Star Game was held at Whataburger Field on June 25, 2007. They invited seven guys from Hooks to join the team. From 2005 to 2010, 29 Hooks players went on to play in the major leagues, and another 31 players who had already played in the major leagues wore the Corpus Christi jersey. As part of MLB's reorganization of the Minor Leagues in 2021, the Hooks were placed in the Double-A Central.
The 2021 Hooks were known as the "Corpus Christi Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits" for each Wednesday game. Whataburger, which started in Corpus Christi and supports the team's field, makes the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. They looked like Whataburger table tents and uniforms. The Double-A Central changed its name to the Texas League in 2022, which was the name of the regional league before it was reorganized in 2021.
