The Southern Gothic is an American band that originated from Atlanta and is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee, founded in 2007. The band's current lineup consists of Shawn Thacker, Yannie Reynecke, Connor Christian, and Quinn Loggins. The Southern Gothic is also known by its other names, such as Connor Christian & the Morningstar Revival and Connor Christian & Southern Gothic. The band is also known to fans as SoGo.
The music of the Southern Gothic is defined as country and southern rock. After changing the name to its current version, the group members released two studio albums. The first one, entitled New Hometown, sold about 5,000 copies in its first week of release. The album debuted on Top 20 of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number one on the Top Heatseekers chart.
In January 2014, the Southern Gothic recorded another double-live album entitled "Shuffle & Stomp." "CCSG Live in Atlanta" was the first full-length concert DVD by the band. After this release, the group took a four-year hiatus to work on individual projects. In 2018, the band reformed and released a stand-alone single named "Let it Ride." The single came out on April 19, 2019. "Past Midnight" is another recent single accompanied by the EP "Burnin' Moonlight." Both were released on December 4, 2020.
