Colorado Dance Collective Information
In July 2009, a group of passionate dancers in Colorado formed the Colorado Dance Collective (CDC), which later that year received 501(c)3 tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. In its 14th year, the CDC has expanded to include five auditioned companies dedicated to performing a variety of dance genres.
All of their dancers are 18 and up but share a similar interest in dance as performance art. The CDC has grown to incorporate several outreach programs and annual performance opportunities thanks to the leadership of its volunteer Artistic Directors and Board of Directors.
They do great work in the neighborhood, but their primary outreach projects are Hip Hop Madness, The Wardrobe, and The Dance Teacher Alliance. Hip Hop Madness features free dancing sessions throughout the day and a performance by local Hip Hop groups in the evening. Since 2014, the CDC has organized it, and in 2022, 91 people of varying ages participated.
