Chubb Classic Information
Every year in February, Naples, Florida, hosts the Chubb Classic, a tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. The tournament is primarily sponsored by the insurance company Chubb and has been held at several courses. It first appeared in 1988 under Aetna Challenge and is now 34. In 2016, the total prize pool was $1.6 million, and the victor received a $240,000 payout.
In 2021, the tournament will be played in Tiburón Golf Club for the first time, but on the Black Course. In previous years, Tiburón's Gold Course has hosted the QBE Challenge and CME Group Tour Championship, but this is the first time the Blue Course has been used for a major tournament.
Seven players have won this tournament more than once through 2022. The only player with the most (4) wins is Bernhard Langer (2011, 2013, 2016, 2022). Those who have two wins include Fred Couples (2010, 2017), Loren Roberts (2006, 2009), Hale Irwin (1997, 2002), Gil Morgan (1998, 2001), Mike Hill (1993, 1994) (consecutive), and Lee Trevino (1990, 1991) (consecutive).
