Chris Voth Information
Chris Voth was born and raised in Chico, California. He earned a bachelor's degree in English from Azusa Pacific University, where he also tried out for the basketball team. He moved to Denver in 1998, won a local talent competition, and by 1999 was a regular at Denver's legendary Comedy Works club. That led to weekly appearances on stage and the chance to collaborate with some of the biggest stars in comedy.
Chris lived in San Francisco, where he frequently performed at the Punch Line and Cobb's comedy clubs, from 2002 to 2006. He appeared on the second season of NBC's Last Comic Standing while still a Bay Area resident. Chris also spent two years touring with an improv comedy team.
In 2006, Chris moved back to Denver, where he began performing again at Comedy Works and expanding his calendar of corporate shows. Chris felt compelled to serve his community by teaching English to high school students in 2008, so he accepted a position as a teacher at a charter school run by Denver Public Schools. The employment came with a salary plus health and dental insurance. Chris's intended one- or two-year diversion was much more than that. He returned to school immediately, getting his teaching certificate and finishing his Master of Arts in English at the University of Colorado Denver in 2014.
