Choir! Choir! Choir! Information
Choir! Choir! Choir! is a Canadian musical choir that is based in Toronto, Ontario. The choir is structured differently than the other traditional organizational model. It is an open participation group where everybody can attend the event as well as perform as part of the choir. The group was founded by Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman in 2011. It was initially organized as a one-off event for Matt Murphy’s birthday party.
Each performance during the Choir! Choir! Choir! revolves around a single song. The choir is started with Adilman and Goldman teaching the song’s arrangement to the participants. In 2016, the group attracted much media attention. Six days after the death of Bowie, they performed at the Art Gallery of Ontario. The performance went viral on the internet and also saw the two invitations for the choir to perform at Bowie’s tribute show in New York City at Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall.
Choir! Choir! Choir! performed “Imagine” of John Lennon at Lee’s Palace in December 2015. It was a fundraising event to raise money for the Syrian refugees. The event was successful and raised enough money to sponsor two families. The same month, the group collaborated with BADBADNOTGOOD and performed the holiday classic “Christmas Time is Here.”
