Black Marble Information
Black Marble is an American music band that was founded in 2012, originating from Brooklyn, New York. The music of the Black Marble is defined as a synth-pop and cold wave. The band is led by electronic musician Chris Stewart, and it formerly featured Ty Kube, who was the part of Team Robespierre.
Black Marble initiated its career with a release of an EP entitled Weight Against the Door released on Hardly Art in 2012. In the same year, the group released its first full-length album on the same label, entitled A Different Arrangement. These initial discographies by the band are described as "throwbacks to the cold-wave genre" by Leo Neufeld of the Miami New Times.
The second album by Black Marble was It's Immaterial, released in 2016 on Ghostly International label. This release followed Ty Kube's departure from the project and Chris Stewart's shift from the East Coast to the West Coast. Bigger Than Life was the third studio album by the band released on October 25, 2019, through Sacred Bones Records with "One Eye Open" being the record's first single.
