Beto Cuevas Information
Beto Cuevas (September 12, 1967) is a Chilean-Canadian actor, painter, plastic artist, songwriter, and singer. He was born in Santiago, Chile. Beto first met La Ley drummer Mauricio Clavera in 1988 on a vacation to Concón, Chile. After Iván Delgado and Sha Arbul departed, Clavera invited Cuevas to join the band. Beto made his singing debut with La Ley on their debut album, Desiertos, and he rapidly became the group's signature singer. Doble Opuesto, La Ley's second album, was released not long after.
To take a break from La Ley, Beto Cuevas, Pedro Frugone, and Mauricio Clavera did so in 2005. Beto collaborated on a few short-term collaborations with the group Masters at Work ("Little Louie" Vega & Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez), and one of their songs, "Loud," features them. The song "Mentira," which he had previously released in La Ley MTV Unplugged, was reworked for the film La mujer de mi hermano.
Also, Beto played synths and guitars and sang the songs "Insatisfacción" and "Eres Mi Hogar" (a cover of the Beatles' "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"). In 2007, he filmed "The Autograph" for an episode of the Canal Fox Latinoamérica series Tiempo Final, where he plays a character named Beto.
