Banda El Recodo Information

Banda El Recodo, also known as Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, is a Mexican band established in 1938 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. Since its inception, the Lizárraga family has presided over it. Famous musicians like Juan Gabriel and José Alfredo Jiménez have collaborated with Banda El Recodo.

Four clarinets, three trumpets, a Tambora who, a snare drum set with cowbells and cymbals, a sousaphone, three trombones, two tenor horns (called saxes, armonías or charchetas in Mexico), and two vocalists make up the group.

Their 9 Latin Grammy wins make them the first band in history to do so. For the Latin Grammys, Banda El Recodo made history in 2003 when they were chosen to perform for the first time. They repeated the performance in 2008, 2010, 2015, and 2017, making them the Mexican band with the most involvement in these honors.

The band is now the most decorated in its genre, having won 12 "Premios Lo Nuestro" during its career. Its discography has five Billboard Awards, including "Album of the Year," "Song of the Year," and "Master Tone." They have also won the Premios Oye five times.

Banda El Recodo went above and beyond by planning the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of "La Madre de Todas Las Bandas," which took place in the middle of 2018, in addition to their ongoing weekly tour of concerts in Mexico and the US.
