Auburn Tigers Baseball Information
The Auburn Tigers are the collegiate baseball club representing Auburn University in the NCAA Division I league. The baseball team at Auburn is a member of the Southeastern Conference's Western division, just like most of the university's other sporting programs. Plainsman Park is the home field for the Tigers, who Butch Thompson coaches. With a baseball team that has gone 22 times to the NCAA Regionals and six times to the College World Series (CWS), Auburn has won 6 SEC titles and 3 SEC tournament titles.
Hal Baird stepped down as head coach after the 2000 season. During his 16 years as head coach of the Auburn baseball team, Baird had an astounding record of 634–328–0. The 16th head coach of the Auburn Tigers baseball team, John Pawlowski, was unveiled on June 20, 2008. In the past, Pawlowski presided over the College of Charleston football program.
From 2000 until his departure in 2011, he oversaw that program and recorded 338-192-1. With an overall record of 33-23 and an SEC record of 13-17, John Pawlowski was dismissed from his position on May 27, 2013, following the 2013 season. The Tigers could not make it to the NCAA tournament for three years. As an Auburn Bulldog, Pawlowski went 167-126 overall and 71-79 in the Southeastern Conference. Despite his 2010 squad's SEC West title, each of his previous four squads finished last in their respective conferences.
