After relocating to Portland, Amy swiftly ascended to the top of the Northwest comedy scene, winning the Helium Comedy Club's contest for Portland's Funniest Comedian and being named Portland's Funniest in 2013 and 2015 in the Willamette Week. Amy was one of the most popular characters in Season 9 of Last Comic Standing. She was dubbed "a star" and a "contender for next alpha female comedian" by Roseanne Barr.
