Alexis Valdes (August 16, 1963) is a Cuban screenwriter, singer, poet, playwright, film producer, monologist, actor, and comedian. He was born in Havana, Cuba. Valdés graduated with a degree in thermal engineering from the Polytechnic José Antonio Echeverra in Havana. In the 1980s, he became well-known for his role as Bandurria in the Cuban TV series Los pequeos fugitivos (The Little Fugitives). After a decade in Cuba's television and theatrical industries, he relocated to Spain in 1991, where he quickly rose to fame on shows like El Club De La Comedia (The Comedy Club). His debut film, Un Rey en La Habana, starred him and served as a vehicle for his directorial and producing skills.
After relocating to Miami, he hosted a comedy show on AméricaTeVé called "Seguro Que Yes" until its early July 2007 suspension. His program, formerly broadcast on AméricaTeVé, has been airing on Mega TV Channel 22 under the new title Esta Noche Tu Night since early 2008. His second album, "Con Cariito," was released on December 14, 2011. (With Affection). He has had tremendous success in Miami as a playwright, producer, and director since 2013.
