Alex Isley Information
Alex Isley is an American producer, singer, and songwriter. At 12, she enrolled in a classical singing program and graduated from LA County High School of the Arts. Isley attended UCLA and majored in jazz during her undergraduate degree. She had always wanted to be a singer, and her parents encouraged her to pursue that goal.
In 2012, Isley released The Love Art/Memoirs, an EP she had self-produced. Isley has defined her style of music as a blend of R&B, hip-hop, and jazz. Wilton, an EP she recorded with producer Jack Dine, was released in November 2019.
Before going to Los Angeles, Isley had spent most of her youth in New Jersey. Her early influences were artists like Stevie Wonder, Prince, Ella Fitzgerald, Toni Braxton, Aaliyah, and Mariah Carey. Her music exhibited many of their style and tastes.
In May of 2020, Isley gave a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR. She also contributed vocals to "Reaching" by Cautious Clay, which appeared on the fourth season of Insecure's official soundtrack that same year. Isley has collaborated with various notable musicians. The most popular ones include Scarface, Terrace Martin, Masego, 9th Wonder, Tank, and Lucky Daye.
