AC Slater (1979) is known as “The King of Heavy Bass House in America.” He is based in Los Angeles. AC Slater is well known for his loud party music that is often influenced by a wide range of styles. These specific music styles include U.K. bass music, rave, and house. AC is active on the hardcore scene since the 2000s. His impact became more extensive when he switched to more accessible club styles in 2008. After that, several top DJs started liking his tracks, such as Skrillex, Moby, and Diplo. AC has performed all over the world at several major dance festivals and clubs.
AC Slater has released tracks on different club labels such as OWSLA, Nightshifters, and Trouble & Bass. He is the founder of Pitched Up Recordings, Night Bass, and Party Like Us Records as well. AC Slater grew up listening to the 1990s hip-hop that also had an old-school rave. When he started Pitched Up Recordings in the early 2000s, he began releasing happy hardcore and hard trance records. His style of music switched dramatically in 2008. He slowed down to a better standard, incorporating the heavy bass of dubstep and U.K. garage into his music.
In 2014, AC released the Back to the Floor EP on the OWSLA sublabel Nest. In 2015, Slater also launched Night Bass. He also presented his collaboration with Sinden entitled “Not No Love.” He also released a 2017 full-length album “Outsiders” in which Slater featured guests such as Shift K3Y, Chris Lorenzo, and Rome Fortune.
