Roxane Gay Information
Roxane Gay (October 15, 1974) is an American social commentator, author, professor, and editor. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Gay wrote the best-selling book of essays, according to The New York Times, including Bad Feminist (2014), the novel An Untamed State (2014), and the memoir Hunger (2017).
Gay spent four years as an assistant professor at Eastern Illinois University before taking a position as an associate professor of English at Purdue University. She left Purdue in 2018 to work as a visiting professor at Yale. He started Tiny Hardcore Press, serves as an opinion contributor for The New York Times, edits essays for The Rumpus, co-edits PANK, a nonprofit literary arts collective, and is the editor of Gay Mag, a publication created in collaboration with Medium.
The collection titled Not That Bad: Dispatches from Rape Culture was edited by Gay. In the anthology, which HarperCollins released in 2018, there are articles by Gay and 29 other authors. From November 2014 to August 2015, Gay served as the editor of The Butter, a sister website of The Toast that publishes feminist writing. The Butter published articles on various topics, such as disabilities, literature, family, and music.
