Jad Abumrad Information
Jad Nicholas Abumrad (April 18, 1973) is a producer, composer, and radio host. Abumrad received his B.A. from Oberlin College in 1995 after studying creative writing and music composition, focusing on electronic and electroacoustic music. Abumrad wrote cinema music before deciding to pursue a career in radio. For regional and national public radio programs, including On the Media, PRI's Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen, Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Democracy Now!, and WNYC's "24 Hours at the Edge of Ground Zero," Abumrad has contributed reporting and produced documentaries.
Abumrad has been producing and co-hosting the widely syndicated show Radiolab since 2002. His musical background has inspired the tone of Radiolab. An episode of Radiolab from December 14, 2009, a musical work by Abumrad that remixes the Terry Riley song, is included in In C. The Ring & I, a documentary about the enduring influence of Wagner's Ring Cycle, was also produced and hosted by C. Abumrad. It received ten accolades, including the renowned 2005 National Headliner Grand Award in Radio, and was broadcast domestically and abroad.
The first ever Radiolab spin-off series, More Perfect, a podcast that explores the history of some of the court's most well-known decisions, was introduced by Jad in 2016. Abumrad hosted the four-part audio series "UnErased" in 2018, featuring testimonies from LGBT conversion therapy survivors.
