Jabali Acrobats is a Kenyan troupe that combines Chinese and African acrobatics traditions in a fast-paced and exhilarating show. The event blends dancing, exceptional intricate balances, jumping, tumbling, and limbo. Performers of the troupe balance, bop, and bounce to a joyful Benga beat, and they all combine East African musical tradition with Chinese acrobatic feats. Among many national acrobatic competition winners in Kenya, Jabali was named “Best New Act” in 1990 at the Edinburgh, Scotland festival.
Jabali Acrobats gives such thrilling performances that exemplify the link between art and athletics. The troupe entertains the audience with chair balancing acts, human pyramids, tumbling, contortions, and acrobatics. The company includes dance in the show with the Flaming Limbo Bar Dance, the Congo Snake Dance, Skip Rope Footwork, and comedy to electrify the music. There is always significant audience participation included during the show.
Jabali Acrobats performs theatrical performances, festivals worldwide, and stage shows, and also makes appearances at College and NBA halftimes along with regular touring with the Harlem Globetrotters.
