Golden Slippers has served the Virginia Beach region from its four sites since 1979. Anyone, from beginners to advanced dancers, may find a supportive community and quality tuition there. The following dance styles are taught: ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, acro, and hip hop. Pointe and modern are options for more advanced dancers. Children can begin attending creative ballet or tap classes by the time they are three years old to build a strong foundation in dance.
There is sufficient time for each student to develop into a full dancer and person, and this is made possible by instructors who are dedicated to their work. Adults can get in on the action by taking Irish step dance and ballroom dancing lessons. The "Best of the Beach" Dance Studio Gold Award has been won by Golden Slippers for seventeen consecutive years. The season culminates with the studio's spectacular presentation at Chrysler Hall. From the beginning to the end, the high-energy show is filled with song, excitement, and glitter. It is reminiscent of Broadway productions and is packed with singing.
