David Joshua Rubin (June 26, 1976) is an American YouTube personality, political commentator, and talk show host. He is from New York City, New York, and also works as a comedian, radio personality, blogger, and TV personality. Rubin graduated in the year 1994 from Syosset High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1998 from Binghamton University in Vestal, New York, majoring in political science.
Rubin started his official career in 1998 as a stand-up comedian. He used to attend open-mics in New York City. Later, in 1999, he became an intern at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and decided to continue his career at Comedy Cellar (New York-based). In the same year, he created a news program parody called The Anti-Show, along with other Comedy Cellar. It was filmed secretly at NBC Studios in 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Rubin also founded many New York City-based comedy clubs, some of which are The Comedy Company in Times Square and Joe Franklin's Comedy Club. He is a popular creator and host of The Rubin Report, which is a political talk show. It is aired on YouTube and BlazeTV as well as a former part of The Young Turks Network and Ora TV. Rubin also served as a host for The Ben and Dave Show, Hot Gay Comics, and The Six Pack.
As a political commentator, he explains himself as a classical liberal. Rubin has also been described as part of the "intellectual dark web" for some reason. He has been criticized for providing a platform to controversial alt-right and far-right figures, which include far-right personalities Lauren Southern and nationalist Tommy Robinson.
