Aakash Odedra Company Information
In 2011, Anand Bhatt and Aakash Odedra established the Aakash Odedra Company in Leicester. Taking their name from one of the most accomplished choreographers and British South Asian dancers, Aakash Odedra also serves as the company's artistic director. Aakash, born in Birmingham, UK, studied Bharatanatyam and kathak under famed Bollywood choreographer Shiamak Davar in India.
Since then, they've worked closely with Shiamak Davar International to bring dance instruction to more than 600 students. Aakash is a multi-award-winning, internationally renowned performer who has given over 300 evening-length shows in 40 countries.
As of 2018, we are included in the National Portfolio of the Arts Council of England. Since we are a nonprofit, all the money we make from our dance and art programs goes back into supporting our objective to make people happier and healthier in their communities.
