Bell County PRCA Rodeo Information
In February 1988, three cowboys had an idea to help the youth of Bell County, which was the beginning of the Bell County PRCA Rodeo. Red Steagell, a famous comedian, and Bernis Johnson, stock producer of B-J Rodeo Company, were featured in the inaugural Bell County Youth Fair & Livestock Show & PRCA Rodeo, which was organized by Chairman Johnny Boren, Charles Fleming, and WC Evans at the Bell County Expo Center.
The Bell County Youth Fair & Livestock Show and the rodeo would be held annually, with the youth of Bell County benefiting from the net earnings of the rodeo. Not only have Johnny Boren, Charles Fleming, and WC Evans been instrumental in the rodeo's growth over the years, but so have John and Paula Rose, Sam Best, Tina Butler, Duane Biels, and many volunteer committee members.
Among the professional stock producers they have worked with are Bad Company Rodeo, Harper and Morgan Rodeo Company, Donny Gay's All-Star Rodeo Company, and most recently, Sammy Andrews, Andrews Rodeo Company.
