The AAA Texas 500 is the NASCAR Cup Series stock car race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. American Automobile Association (AAA Texas regional club) acts as the corporate sponsor for this car race. The inaugural race of the AAA Texas 500 took place on November 6, 2005, and it was formerly known as Dickies 500. The race is started in the late afternoon, and it continues through sunset, twilight, and finally ends under the lights at night.
The AAA Texas 500 winner’s trophy is in the shape of a cowboy hat fixed on top of a piston. The driver who wins the race has the honor to wear a black cowboy hat and fire a couple of six-shooters in the air on victory lane, traditionally. The most wins as a driver are scored by Jimmie Johnson (5), and most wins as a team are scored by Hendrick Motorsports (5). The AAA Texas 500 was also featured in the 2006 film named Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
