George van den Broek is a British musician. He was born in Manchester, England, and raised in Haselmere. He is best known for his stage name, Yellow Days. After a few early releases during his adolescence, he gathered popularity with his full-length debut in 2017. Is everything in your world running smoothly? His follow-up, A Day in a Yellow Beat, was released in 2020, set in Los Angeles. When Yellow Days were 11 years old, he received a guitar as a gift and began learning how to play it. Thundercat, Mac DeMarco, and Ray Charles were among his early musical influences.
In late 2015, Yellow Days began releasing stand-alone tracks as a teen. Harmless Melodies, his debut EP, was released in November 2016. In 2017, Yellow Days continued to release singles regularly, some of which were included in his debut album, Is Everything Okay in Your World?, released in October. Rejjie Snow, a hip-hop artist, made a guest appearance.
When the trailer for Donald Glover’s show Atlanta’s second season aired in 2016, “Gap in the Clouds,” from his first EP, reached a wider audience. Yellow Days followed up in April 2018 with the single “The Way Things Change” and a week of sold-out club gigs in the United States before embarking on a European tour.
Yellow Days’ sophomore album, A Day in a Yellow Beat, was released in 2020. It was written and recorded mostly in Los Angeles, with van den Broek drawing new inspiration from local partners.
