Noah Olivier Smith (February 26, 2000) is an American record producer, singer, songwriter, and rapper. He was born in Irvine, California. He is professionally known by his stage name, Yeat. After spending his early youth in Fullerton, California, Yeat attended Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He later moved to Portland, Oregon, with his family. Yeat relocated to New York City after finishing school to pursue a music career and later to Los Angeles, where he now resides.
Yeat started in the industry as Lil Yeat in 2015. However, all of his old songs are now gone from streaming services. Yeat debuted his new stage name on June 30, 2018, when he released the music video for "Brink" on the YouTube channel Elevator. Yeat claims he came up with the name Yeat while intoxicated when he only attempted to think of a word that would sound known to everyone.
Some have speculated that his stage name is a portmanteau of the words "yet" and "heat." Yeat has discussed how LSD gave him the confidence to pursue a music career. On September 20, 2018, he dropped his debut mixtape, Deep Blue Strips. His "Stay Up" music video debuted on Elevator on February 21, 2019. Yeat's third studio album, Afterlyfe, was released on February 24, 2023.
