Wynona Wang Information
Wynona Wang, a Chinese pianist, won the 2018 Concert Artists Guild International Competition's First Prize. This is just the most recent in a string of outstanding first-place performances by Wynona, who also won the 2017 Wideman International Piano Competition in Louisiana. Wynona Wang, a Beijing native who started playing the piano at age 4, later attended the famed Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) in Beijing for her elementary and secondary education.
She received a full scholarship for her Performer's Diploma at Southern Methodist University in Dallas in the fall of 2016. She is now a student of Dr. Robert McDonald at The Juilliard School, where she currently resides in New York. Wynona also received the 2019 "Charlotte White" Career Grant from the New York City Salon de Virtuosi. Wynona, a professional performer in China, Europe, and the US, recently completed her Performer's Diploma program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas under the guidance of renowned pianist Alessio Bax.
She participated in numerous recitals, chamber music concerts, and concerto performances while attending SMU, including joint performances with the Escher String Quartet and cellist Andres Diaz. In the 2019–2020 season, she gave her New York debut recital at Carnegie Weill Hall. She has also performed at renowned national concert venues, including David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, Krannert Center, and Merkin Hall. Merkin Hall, La Grua Arts Center, Kravis Center, Pinedale Performing Arts, Whitney Center, and Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts are among the venues she will perform at during her 21–22 season.
